INTRODUCTION
PC Specialist Ltd is committed to improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking. As part of the Information Technology manufacturing industry, we recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking. This is our first statement on modern slavery and human trafficking following the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 August 2022.
PC Specialist Ltd is a manufacturer and retailer of custom built Desktop and Laptop PCs within the technology sector. We supply to most European countries as well as across the UK through our website.
We have an annual turnover of €171,124,527.00.
Our business operates from premises within the UK and The Netherlands, employing 191 staff with approximately 120 of which being Production and Warehouse employees and the remaining Administration and Customer Support.
Our supply chains include - Intel, Asus and Corsair.
We source our components globally including the Far East and parts of Europe. With this in mind, we face the challenge of individual countries having different legal, ethical and cultural environments. Therefore, we follow a structured process for due diligence when engaging new business relationships and re-assess the current ones where necessary to ensure compliance at both ends of the relationship.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we carry out checks on each new potential business relationship. We have in place systems to:
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains.
- Monitor potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Protect whistle blowers.
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we have in place a compliance programme.
We have a dedicated compliance team, which consists of involvement from the following departments:
- Legal
- Audit and compliance
- Human resources
- Procurement
- Sales
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff.
We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:
- Compliance questionnaire for all new business relationships
- Bi-annual updates for all existing relationships
