It's finally time!

Okay, I've waited enough, and although I kind of want to wait for the 7800x3D now I've had enough of waiting :)

I don't really have a budget, can say £3k for these parts, I'm going to be ordering a Sapphire RX7900XTX GPU to go with it, and either a alienware 34"OLED or a 4k monitor when they come out.... eventually.

Use wise, it's mainly just gaming, but sometimes I'll host minecraft servers or something with my friends to play together.

So, currently I'm thinking of the below:

The cooler wasn't really what I wanted but it the only one they have left in stock.

Anything I've messed up on, or does it look ok?

Thanks :)

What cooler were you hoping to get?

I think it's just the H150i elite RGB - obviously I wanted the better cooling for the CPU, but just don't really care for the LCD display. It's a bit more.. but in the grand scheme of things I'm not going to lose sleep over it. For them to come back in stock it's another month.

Just ordered the same build but with the hero motherboard today so we might get them same time :) with the 4090 though.

One option would be to order it with a cheap air cooler and replace with an AIO you like/want after you receive it?

Yeahh! I saw your build and thought it was similar to mine too :D except I’m going AMD gpu instead. I am thinking about fast tracking it too though, for £30 extra will hopefully jump ahead of the others ordering the new X3D CPUs

It’s an option.. but one of the issues when building my last pc was trying to get the AIO to fit or screw directly into the case, so it’s fine I’ll just pay the extra and get the fancy LCD display that I’ll never use, might make me happy just staring at my CPU temp though ;)

Just so I'm not being stupid here, will this case fit the Saphhire nitro+ 7900XTX? I've been looking at the case manufacturers website for what cards fit, but can't really work it out o_O

I would expect they'd put the AIO radiator on the roof, that's a pretty spacious case and shouldn't have an issue with the RAM height I think

It states
  • GPU max length (Standard version)
451 mm (476 mm without front fan)
Case dimensions are:

542 x 240 x 474 mm

It's a 3.5 slot GPU, so basically 4 slots, but as the wifi is on the board, you don't have any other PCIe cards getting in the way on the vertical so that should be fine.

The card specs are

Dimension: 320(L)X 135.75(W)X 71.6 (H)mm

So yes, even if the radiator was on the front, you'd have plenty of clearance I think if you count a radiator with fans as around 60mm deep, and you've got masses of room on the width too.

Makes sense for the price difference I guess. Did they allow you to change it even although it was in testing?
