Just doing a sanity check with you helpful folk before I install the 3 individual pcie cables, the underlined slots, they look good for using for the 4080? @SpyderTracks
Coming off a call with PCS, tech support advised it'd be ok to use a pigtailed connection (I know that's not what I'm confused about, more so where my extra cable went) and suggested I email as well to get a technician to answer. He said it's likely how they'd build them with 4080 orders but...
Yeah I've triple checked and definitely not one tucked away. I've ordered some type 4 pcie cables from Corsair that'll take 2-4 days so just going to have to wait. Tech support got back to me and said that only two come with the power supply. So I give up. Hopefully the cables I've ordered will...
I do have another sleeved cable in the welcome box that's labeled CPU but I don't think I can use that, the rest seem SATA related as I showed originally.
I'll be honest, I'm really confused now.
What I've got (from PSU to GPU) is two sleeved cables. Both have two 8pin connections, but it's via a pigtail connection as I showed on the image before. So I do have four connections technically, but only two are independent and the other two are daisy...
I'm looking around (Reddit & LinusTechTips forums etc) and people are saying the 2021 model only comes with 2, so an additional one would need to be bought. Do you know if it's a type 3 or 4 pcie cable that I need? Corsair's website isn't really helpful for me.
Thanks, I'll get in touch with PCS to see if they can send them out. Quite annoyed now that they didn't supply the additional ones originally. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
These are the two single cables (with pigtailed 8 pins) that's available to me. There aren't any additional ones in the welcome box I received, should I have received two additional ones?
Sorry for being a pain about this.
Thanks for the advice, I'll double check my welcome box in the morning. Think I'd rather be safe than sorry. See if I can get 3 separate connections going to the 12VHPWR adapter.
I appreciate this is a slightly old post, @SpyderTracks I hope you can help with this one.
I'm upgrading to an RTX 4080 which uses the 12VHPWR connector. When uninstalling my GPU, I noticed I had two normal 8pin power connectors and two pigtailed power connectors zip tied away. Are these safe...
Am I correct in thinking with this case that PCS ship it with the default 1 fan in the front and 1 exhaust? I was wanting 3 in the front so was thinking of ordering an extra 2.
He mentioned that he left out the GPU on his build. I started pre-production on 17/02 with a RTX 3080 in my order. I'm hoping for the average timeframe of 11-13 working days but expecting it to go beyond this, which obviously isn't PCS' fault, just got to be patient 🤓👍
Needing some advice and I'm willing to hold up my hands up in ignorance regarding the queue system and stocks etc.
I was going to pay extra for the "fast track" build time when amending my order (I'm not sure if that would make a whole bunch of difference but wanted to try) but it prompted...
