I was wondering if they are already built ready for the GPU to be plugged in. It would make sense.

I only worry that if they get a huge shipment and have to put loads of rigs together at once quality control may slip.

Ive been watching lots of self build videos and snag videos so if i get a machine i can open it up and check for loose things and plugged in things.

Don't forget, building a PC takes a matter of hours, the testing takes a little longer but usually once a rig enters 'build' its out within a day or so (given no errors are noted during testing). Obviously there are exceptions to this.

PCS will only make PCs as fast as they can (if you get what I mean) they won't skimp on QC'ing - it only costs them money in the long term (warranty returns and reputation etc.).

Definitely a good plan to open up your case and have a good look inside for anything looking loose.

My build is on the 6th day, but to be fair.. the longer the better because my samsung g9 monitor is due to arrive on the 8th october lol (hopefully that is lol)

I am in no real hurry overall, but pcs have been great with updating me via email and phone.

I have been waiting so long to order a PC was going with a 2080ti, decided to hold out a few more months for the 3080. Glad i did actually. The whole delivery of this new card is madness why they didnt expect huge orders being placed straight away is beyond me.

Ive been paying on my laptop also for about a year. Got a Dell XPS 15 its fine for 1080p and 60fps. But jeez i can wait for a pc that i dont need to undervolt and throttle the cpu clocks.

I still think this week and next week they will get cards delievered steadily which should release some of these orders.

I just want the machine before the PS5 releases, thats my goal. If i dont have by then i dont no how i will stop myself from buying a PS5. Maybe tie myself to the floor.
Pretty sure you ll have your rig before the PS5, but i feel your pain.
To avoid buying it, remember that PCS (and almost every seller on the market) take your money before shipping the good ;P
But in a way.... pc+ps5 can not hurt (beside your wallet)

My GF would murder me if i bought a ps5. I had my new monitor turn up yesterday. She was not best pleased.

None of the re-sellers nor the system integrators had any control over the delivery of the cards unfortunately.
Regards the building of orders, normally from what I've seen, an order won't go into building with a component out of stock, however that could change given the high demand recently for these rigs, perhaps they will (I still doubt it though as it means sitting a partially completed order in a bay, taking that bay out of action).

I think this is still the case as I'm waiting on a laptop which is waiting for a part to come back in stock

Lots of reports coming in that latest NVidia driver slightly adjusts GPU Boost and has pretty much eliminated the crashing issues.

There’s the Epic Games Store which gives away free games all the time!
This thread is a good one to watch also https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/pc-game-deals.4767/page-215#post-513059
Plus one for Epic.

it has decent sales and some games for free if you keep an eye out.

Also Microsoft Games Pass (if still doing £1 for a month) is pretty decent to try before you buy type of thing.

saying that I completed Wasteland 3 and the Outer Worlds for that £1 and had a decent blast on MSFS 2020.

Shopping around and checking sales is best way, see what offers are hard to turn down.

for example I bought Assassins Creed Odyssey Ultimate for £23, it’s back to its £95 price...

Iwent for Ultimate as overall VFM was better than standard edition.

and now the 850w and 1000w PSUs are out of stock obviously.

I had a saved built with 850 , then 1000 waiting for the 3060 but god knows what PSUs will be available then..

That may have been my fault – I just upgraded mine. Wasn't showing as out of stock when I made the amendment – now it is.

Does anyone know if that means I might also be at risk of a delay – or is the PCS system good enough that if a part like that was in stock when I bought it, I should be OK? I know in the context of the 3080 launch that might be a stupid question.

As an update, customer service just said the PSUs are currently set to be restocked on October 5th. So depending on when your card arrives (June?) it probably won't make any difference if you upgrade it.
