Was just a regular SATA. It wasn't supported by frame or screws (much as I tried to find a way to), and it was touching the cable leading from the MB to the USB drive, but not a lot.

So as a last resort I opened my laptop's base, removed an extra HDD I'd added in the empty socket next to the reader, turned it on and now the reader works fine. I wonder if there was a conflict between them, or whether it pushed against a cable and caused any sort of issues.

It installs, but it's not recognized as a drive anywhere that I can see, nor does it recognise a card being inserted.

I tried installing it, but it doesn't work. The one provided that is.

So while I am waiting to find out from PCS (I've updated them), a friend of mine suggested I make sure my memory card reader works - and it doesn't. I've inserted a card to no avail. So it may be that it's broken, hardware wise, or I don't have the right driver?

Hello again :) I've done a full clean install with nothing plugged in from a USB device, and the problem still persists. I'll contact PCS through a ticket and link this thread to them. Thank you both kindly for the help :)

Yes, everything disconnected.

Yes :( I already tried that, it reappears. The odd thing is that all the drives seem to be performing fine when I connect things to them.
