Windows upgrade and password issues

New PC.

Had windows 7 home 64-bit on it.

Upgraded to windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

After the process has run it restarts itself as is to be expected.

Tried to log in - incorrect password.

I know I'm typing my password correctly, I've tried all the permutations of capitals and non-capital letters I can think of.

I tried the reset password option but I don't have a removeable disk with the password data on it.

Since run in safe mode and safe mode with command prompt - again neither of those modes will accept the password I had before upgrading the system.

Help?

(Unrelated note, this pc has started rejecting my password as well - windows xp - same password as the other pc - overnight it's decided it doesn't like it.)

You must have entered your password incorrectly the first time round, and also confirmed it incorrectly. The computer can't change its mind overnight :p

As this is a clean install, it might be worth starting again, as it will only take you 30 minutes :)
