Windows 11

Last week I looked at various laptops available at PC Specialist and worked out various configurations of my own and decided on what I wanted and was just about to commit to a £1200 spend when I saw a post about Windows 11.

On reading various posts it seems Windows 11 has a very high threshold with regard to the spec of machines that would be capable of upgrading to it. It also said support for Windows 10 would end in 2025.

How do I know that any laptop I might purchase now will be suitable to upgrade to 11? I don't wnt to spend >£1000 and find in a few years my operating system is unsupported by Microsoft?

The PC/Laptop needs to have: TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, 64bit processor, quad core or better & an Generation 8 or better processor.
Anything made this year should be compatible.

Mine is Gen 6, i7 processor which isn’t supported at this time but passes all other requirements.
