From what I have gathered, the chassis for the Ultranote V is a Clevo N240WU.
I performed a search for that model number along with the keywords clevo linux keyboard backlight brought up search results for another company which sells laptops pre-loaded with linux, who also happen to make a driver for clevo laptop keyboards available for compilation from a github download.
It should work, in theory.

, in particular the keyboard section.Ah. Well that aforementioned utility may still work for you, it shouldn't do any harm if not. The only issue is if it doesn't work you would ideally want to get rid of it. I'd recommend creating a deb package from the source file.
