Well, dust wil be a huge problem as you will get a layer over all the components, cooling may not be as good either, no positive pressure or negative etc. Cases tend to direct air to places, aiding cooling :p

cooling is better, it doesnt have walls around it

do you not get a better effect of the weather (hot or cold) when you aren't between 4 walls

it will pretty much have unlimited air to suck up rather than having to wait on case fans to supply it all the time

I'd be very worried to have an expensive PC exposed like that. If there were clear perspex around it I think it would be pretty cool though.

Its an actual chassis that will be shipping soon or is actually on sale now, cant remember. But it is a full open case chassis.

Dust would be certainly an issue but id be more worried about my puppy eating the parts and cables :)

Theres many test beds that are sold, it is just a test bed but others may choose to buy it for other reasons, even the press release describe it as test beds.

Yeah, but im sure i read somewhere that cases can direct air to places better, as in an open testbench, you have no casefans blowing directly at the components if you think about it

but the fans built into the components can do that by themselves

using a computer for a long while will most likely see a slow increase in temps, thats because the inside temps of the case gets slightly warmer, whereas when there isn't anything around it, this hot air let off is just released into the rest of the air

Yeah, but if you have case fans blowing onto the components, they will draw the hot air away from around the components and then out an exhaust fan.

Ah sorry. Not sure cuz I read the review and didnt see test bed mentioned at all anywhere.
“In-Win have done exceedingly well with the XFrame and should lay claim that if you’re going to buy an open frame chassis, the In-Win XFrame should be your only way to go.” -HardwareLOOK

I am going by what they are calling it which is an open frame chassis. Cant see many of the public buying anything that has test bed associated with it. Only more specialists on a whole would buy it.
Call it an open frame chassis and people would. Of course just IMO. :)
