Hi

Below is the spec for a workstation that I would like to use for

Lightroom
Photoshop
Premier Pro
Microsoft Office 365

linked to 2 Dell Ultrasharp monitors
U2410 1920 x1200 @ 60Hz
U2713H 2560 x 1440 @60Hz

The only thing I would like to change is the memory. I'd like to up it to 3600Mhz, but there isn't an option for this
Confirmation that the motherboard will support M.2 NVMe SSD Disks would be welcome.

thanks in advance for views and recommendations

You will probably be asked to provide the link to the specification, so that the experts can make some tweaks. The Asus ROG Strix x-570 board is usually recommended by them for that processor and that can have 2 NVME drives. You could save a few pounds by getting the non-RGB RAM. You have selected an older version of the cooler and should be looking at the Platinum version. The 5900X CPU is out in a few days and might be a worthwhile upgrade. The 3070 GPU may be overkill for your monitors and application and they are like hen’s teeth at the moment. What resolution and refresh rate are your monitors? Bullguard anti-virus is generally not recommended.

Personally I think it’s a bit overkill for photographic type of work.

as above, key will be your monitors, 1440p or 4K?

that will point to the graphics card.

memory speed for the likes of lightroom likely makes zero difference.

As for storage, I believe HDD would be best options with M.2 for OS.

also is there a specific reason for Windows Pro, home does pretty much everything everyone needs.

you could easily drop cpu down (I know cores come in to it, gfx card match to monitors.

change to motherboard To strix as above.

Just about everything I would cover has been covered above :)

The only thing I would say is that it's not a great time to buy such a system. You could of course get it just now but I think the 3070 would be over what you would ever need. The 3060Ti, when released, would be more than a match for your uses.

The 5900X would also be my recommendation, along with the appropriate cooler and motherboard choices.

The PRO HDD isn't really worth it in my eyes, I would tend to go with the standard one. With regards to the NVMe drives, the 980 Pro's are out now which are significantly faster. I would probably want a reasonable size primary to store the OS, Programs (500GB) and a reasonably sized scratch/fast storage drive (250GB).

Below is what it would roughly look like with the CPU and GPU in as placeholders.

You would want the 5900X and the 3060Ti. I believe the price overall would be around £2.2k if that was appropriate.

@Scott was very helpful with the spec for my proposed photo editing beast. The thread is here https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/guidance-for-photo-editing-pc.71683/
@Bigfoot Just read through your thread and it looks like you and me are very much looking along the same lines, with very similar budgets. Thankfully @Scott sounds a very knowledgeable chap. I'm right at the borderline of my knowledge here and welcome his expert views reading through his comments.
Like you, I'm thinking hold off for a week or two for the updated AMD processor and as for the graphics card, I'll be open to advice there.
My thinking is I will stick to a fast HDD for storing my photos and videos, rather than go to an SSD

Just doing the final lap of my spec and thanks to @Scott, @Gavras and @Bigfoot for getting me this far.

I've put in the 3070 GPU instead of the 3060Ti with the hope of getting delivery before Xmas. No idea when 3060Ti is going to be readily available and would probably run out of patience :)

Anyhoo, hopefully this is fairly decent and will cover my needs. Any final comments before I press the button would be welcome, of course

I would recommend one minor change. There has been a development in the memory configuration aspect of AMDs architecture. It actually gets a performance boost from 4x8GB over 2x16GB. With that in mind I would switch it over to 4x8GB 3600Mhz RAM.

Other than that, the build is perfect.

Look forward to see what you make of it. I think you'll be really impressed just turning it on to be honest :D

I’m sure I’ll be impressed. Thanks once again for all the advice. It’s going to be a busy couple of days getting it sorted, starting with a clean install, drivers, antivirus etc etc.
I can’t sleep 😂

Take your time with it, get every step spot on so that you can just enjoy it all the more. Before you do the clean install, benchmark it and put it through some stress testing. Last thing you want to do is go through all that only to find an issue :)
