should I?

My system is around 4 years old, don't really use it anymore. I am looking for a PC to use in the living room with a 4k TV. I always wanted a liquid cooled pc so might as well go for one now :) should I wait for Pascal? I am still confuse with the liquid cooling kit options and GPU cooling options.

That's a beast of a build and very nice, but I would wait until we know some more about pascal, it's not long now.

From all current reports I've read from reputable sources (albeit all assumptions at this point), they're claiming a june release date with announcement next month.

From what we're lead to believe, I think the probability is that one top of the range pascal card (at a premium, I'm sure) will be able to do the work of sli'd 980ti's.

cheers, good to know. If no announcement is made by the end of May I may just go for it. Need to discuss a pay rise anyway in 2 weeks :)

I am still confuse with the liquid cooling kit options and GPU cooling options.

The Kit you have chosen has one single reservoir of coolant and 2 radiators to dissipate the heat quicker. The extreme has 2 reservoirs and pumps, each with its own rad. One for the CPU and one for the GPU(s). The latter keeps both systems independent which I suppose stops high temps on the GPU's affecting the CPU and visa versa in extreme cases and super high loads. The High and extreme kits also use EK components which are arguably a higher quality. The same can be said for the GPU waterblock options.

thank you. So would the extreme kit be more suitable if I wish to further overclock both GPU and CPU? The EK-FC graphics card cooling indicates: This water block directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water flows directly over these critical areas thus allowing the graphics card and it's VRM to remain stable under high overclocks.
I assume I can only fully benefit from it if I wish to overclock my GPU. Don't really see the benefit of cooling RAM

That would make for an absolutely awesome rig. But I'll only let you have it on one condition. We want plenty of pics :D

If you are really pushing things, you would benefit from them cooled separately, but I mean REALLY pushing things. EK is generally the 'go to' company for watercooling. The quality of the blocks would also be better I would assume. Looking at a quick review of the alpha cool, it looks quite bulky.

I wouldn't overclock it or at least not to an extreme. I am more interested in the noise levels decreasing since it would be in the living room.

One pump running in the High version would be quieter than 2 in the extreme?

I have no clue. I just think the additional cost of the extreme or more expensive GPU blocks wouldn't be justified in my case since the system would be just for gaming next to the tv.

Yeah that's what my rig is for. I would say that the extreme would be for over the top overclocking, does not sound like you need it. Didn't realise there was a £50 difference in the GPU blocks!

and around £200 for the liquid cooling kit

Am I late to the party or has everyone heard of amd's new Radeon pro duo cards? They look pretty good, although pricey!
