I'd be looking at mainly 1440p 1440hz gaming but I don't know if the jump in performance is that significant, from what I've seen of reviews there doesn't seem to be much, but is there much with ray tracing on?`By the looks of things the people with the 3070 are getting their pcs significantly faster too so, maybe getting it earlier and better [performance might make it worth?

The performance jump isn't massive but it's enough to push 1440p superwide. If I was you however I'd be looking at changing the motherboard to a minimum TUF B550 instead of the prime.

If you decided to go for the 3070 I'd also be looking at the TUF X570 motherboard instead of the TUF B550

I'd be looking at the below for a 3070 build

Do you have a 1440p monitor?

There won't be a lot of noticeable difference at 1440p IMO. If I were in your shoes I probably would fork out the extra cash, I'm not saying don't do it, I just don't think it's worth it as I'm a little daft with purchases like that.

Purchasing the 3070 over the 3060Ti will net you some extra frames or possibly some higher settings with the same frames. I don't think your eyes will actually perceive much of a difference though so it's down to wallet really. What the 3070 will offer, if you haven't purchased already, is access to the ultra widescreen 1440p monitors. It will do better at driving such a panel, where the 3060Ti would drop a little too much framerate IMO.

I don't have one just yet but I plan on upgrading to one in the near future, though I wouldn't know if I'd go for an ultra wide

Can I ask why you'd look towards the a different motherboard, and yeah I don't think I'll go for a 3070 seems the graphics increase isnt worth it

Your motherboard is how all the parts communicate, it also needs to take a fair amount of abuse with the power running through it. With beefier parts in the computer that are sending more and more data through the motherboard the MB needs to be able to keep up and be able to endure beating it will take

The higher grade motherboards are designed to take the abuse from the more powerful components but also better built so the separate parts can communicate faster with one another

That's about as basic as I can describe it without getting into weird details that I don't know enough about

Believe it or not, the B550 should be quite capable for any of the GPUs. The key is the PCIe4.0 slot. It has direct CPU lanes that allow for direct communication. It's a standard and doesn't require a chipset bridge so the motherboard shouldn't have too much impact here.

It does have a say with the CPU and the RAM though, but with the 5600X it would be more than capable.

I do think there would be real merit in an upgrade though. The Gaming Wifi motherboard always sticks out for me as a great middle ground. It's a bit beefier in the VRMs & has built in Wifi AX200 (Wifi6).

What is the full name of the gaming wifi and do you think it's worth me upgrading that?

ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!

Only if you want the Wifi. Even if you don't I think the Gaming Plus is worth it (non-Wifi) for the price difference. It's a good bit of kit. The TUF gaming range from ASUS is all pretty good from what I've seen.

If I went with that I assume I would also remove the wireless network card

Right then,

Let's say I wanted to put a 3070 into the build would ye change anything about the parts or is it just the change in mobo
