Hiya

What's the PC for? You say office work, but what does that entail?

What make and model monitor do you have as it's not just resolution, but refresh rate that impacts what GPU you need as well as other factors?

What's your maximum budget?

Hi,
The office stuff is mainly around excel and access databases but that will decrease.
Current monitor is LECTRIQ 28" 4K UHD 1MS GAMING MONITOR.
I can afford around £4300
thanks

Its definitely an overkill if you are not going to be gaming on the rig to be honest :) if its mainly for productivity I'd keep the limit to around £1000 on the PC and then get another one in 3-4 years time.

I plan to get into gaming a lot more - is it still too much or are there any obvious changes I ought to be making?
Is it worth waiting for the 4080 graphics card over the 4090?
thanks

I would certainly not buy the 4090. I would also not buy a 13900K! Neither is a good use of money and nothing you have described will make any use of that kind of hardware. If you're going to be gaming at 4K (though only at 60Hz on that display, I think?) then you should probably be looking at either a 4080 or one of AMD's cards when they come out (perhaps the Radeon 7900XT). That means I'd wait a few weeks more to see reviews and pricing when it comes out on PCS's site.

Here's a system that I could recommend right now: powerful (even excessive in some areas), but with good upgrade paths. But I'd wait a few weeks anyway. Frankly spending more would be a waste of your money.

CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Excellent case
