Photo library / processing and a little gaming perhaps...

OK. A fussy one for you to consider please. No rush as looking at what I can get compared to other options using what I have currently (laptop).

Budget preferred £1500 to £1750 ideally. I know I'm a few quid over below.

Must have:
Minimum 32GB RAM (expandable to 64gb).
1 x SSD for the operating system
1 x SSD for the software / utility / programs I use (Lightroom / Photoshop / some games but see below).
2 x hard drives (can be SSD or HDD) the same - approx 2TB each or higher if you can - for photo storage and odd document basically - no software (I will be duplicating hence 2 - one for back up then as will have over 50k photos on)
Be able to run to its full potential: Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom with full editing capabilities of "stitching" about 5/6 photos in one go.

Must have the keyboard/mouse selected as well.

As quiet as absolutely possible. Ideally a set up that perhaps I can remote control from another room at times (via my laptop) LOL.

Monitor I will be using:
Dell S2721DGFA 27 Inch QHD (2560x1440) Gaming Monitor

Gaming:
It would be nice to run the odd 1440p game, however not too worried at this time as have a gaming laptop currently that I hope will last another year / 18 months. So look for the possibility of upgrading grfx card later - ie sufficient now for 1440p photo editing, but later 1440p gaming.

Warranty - I am a man that has bad luck...Platinum 3 year warranty :D Will consider 2 year (labour and parts) if going the upgrade later route...

OS: Windows 11 - must have as will not have spare license.

If you need to know anything else - please ask.

Thanks in advance.

My attempt - will consider AMD or Intel processor, but gone for the Core count as assume this helps with the photo editing work (etc).:

Hello good sir, and lovely to see you!

This is where I'd be looking, you get an awful lot more bang for your dollar with AMD, the GPU you definitely want nvidia for the RT cores which greatly help with effects and post processing for photo editing, but an AMD platform gives you far better upgrade path, more performance per £ and better thermals. The AIO will be plenty for this processor while being quieter than an air cooler. The case is restricted by budget, but Fractals are usually pretty good on the noise front because they're predominantly open mesh.

It's slightly over budget, but if you can stretch, would be well worth it. If you did need to cut the budget, you could reduce the processor to the 7700 and it would still be much the same performance as the 13700k but at a fraction of the power and heat.

Just an addition, the above is slightly over as it is, you'll see I've left out the warranty. You have up until the end of the first year to upgrade that to platinum for the difference, no extra charge. That's exactly what I did when I bought my laptop. Best to double check with PCS to be certain they can still offer that.

Thanks Spyder - you mention the case is restricted by budget as well - what case would you have put in - out of interest.

I know its over budget slightly but might be able to stretch after next pay day lol. Also, the one thing Im not too bothered about - as wife would want it turned off anyway if Im set up in the lounge - is the RGB....so would I see much loss in reducing the RAM to the fastest non RGB ram?

The Corsair 4000X is a really good option with the same aesthetics, but far higher quality cooling and overall build quality. If budget were no option I'd go with the 5000x which is actually really good value as includes the RGB controller rather than having to use the motherboard RGB controller.

I didn't even notice I'd selected RGB, it may have been simply as it was the only 6000MHz 2 x 16 kit. But yeah, if there's a 6000MHz kit without RGB then no issue swapping it, but I wouldn't reduce the speeds.

ah no the non RGB is 5600MHz...

I'd agree with that build pretty much entirely. There are a couple of areas where I might raise questions. The first is cooling: the 7900 or 7700, even if you hit them quite hard, simply won't get that hot in gaming or photo editing. The DeepCool AK400 would genuinely be ample. If you can stretch to one of the Corsair coolers, great, but it's not needed.

Second, I'd prefer a 2TB P41+ SSD to a 1TB P44 Pro. In most photo editing scenarios you aren't going to be limited by disk speed.
