New PC reboots after 4 beeps when waking from sleep

You were wondering about moving the DIMMs? I could try that anyway (i.e. leaving 16GB in). Problem is that I have tested all 4 DIMMs and none appears to have a problem. If moving them around did fix it, then it's probably a BIOS issue, I guess, which would bring me back to re-flashing the BIOS (though I think I have the latest version).

Could be worth trying 16gb and seeing I think you need to gain permission from pcs to flash your bios for warranty reasons
We reserve the right to suspend the warranty or refuse service if your Case, Motherboard, CPU or BIOS have been replaced without authorisation.
Any tampering, repair or modification by unauthorised personnel voids the warranty.

There is no evidence that this is a BIOS issue. A call to PCS shoukd reveal whether it might be BIOS related.

In any case, you will void your warranty if you flash the BIOS without PCS consent.

I just got a pc an dot does the same thing, did you manage to find a fix in the end? I will probably just always shut it down at night.

No - I never fixed it. I now do what most of the experts in this thread suggested - I just leave it running (and shut down when I will be away for more than 24 hr or so). To be honest, it feels like it's sleeping anyway, since the monitor is off, the keyboard is unlit and it is pretty much silent, and it 'wakes' on moving the mouse instantly. I actually quite like the end result, to be honest.

I also got a new PC yesterday (with a Gigabyte Z690 motherboard) which had the exact same issue, but I've just managed to fix it after getting permission to flash the BIOS with a reference version.

The way I did it was using the Gigabyte App Center. I installed the @BIOS component, then from within that I selected "update from server" . I chose the USA server, let the system reboot itself and it automatically flashed the BIOS then rebooted into Windows safe mode. I shut down, booted into Windows normally, and now the sleep/wake function works perfectly.

I'm assuming the fault is with the PC Specialist modified bios image as the only other difference now is that I get the standard Gigabyte graphic on boot, rather than the PC Specialist one.

Note that as I understand it, flashing the BIOS without getting in touch with PC Specialist could void your warranty so I recommend discussing it with one of their technical support team first. Hope that's useful, though!

Thanks for letting me know, I won't flash the bios because I'm not really sure how to, but this gives me assurance that I can always fix the issue if I ever need to and that it isn't a problem with he motherboard. But anyway I use hibernate, is there any cons of using hibernate (I have a 512gb ssd and 8gb 2400mhz ram).

U could always try hibernate instead, it works with my pc even thought the sleep makes the 4 beeps and reboots.

I had exactly this problem again with a new Z690 based PC and went through the advice listed above and additional suggestions from PC Specialist tech support. When this did not help, their diagnosis was that I had a corrupted BIOS and tech support sent me a link to a fresh download. It is still version F7a but with a more recent date stamp. With the reflashed BIOS everything works perfectly.
Reflashing was quite straightforward following PCSpecialist's instructions.
The upside is that when I leave the computer and it goes into sleep mode it now restarts in 8 seconds with no beeping instead of 23 seconds with the beeps.

That's such good news and thanks for feeding back.

That's quite unusual for a corrupted BIOS in that way so challenging to troubleshoot.
