Need help with fan profiling and RGB control.

Hi,

2.5 years ago I bought a liquid series PC. After the latest Windows 11 update all rgb fans turned to red. When I rolled back the update the whole OS crashed and presented the blue screen at every restart. All attemts of recovery to previous saves etc have failed. I managed to get my files and documents by running Notepad through cmd prompt. Made a media USB on my laptop and reinstalled the system. Normally I reinstall a fresh OS every year or two to keep my comuter fast and free of junk. I never had any probles when replacing the OS before, all provided the same quality results when I purchased the PC.

The issue is a bit long winded so apologies here. ARGB lighting on my Asus motherboard and Corsair rams and pheripherals were all controlled by Icue. Fans are all generic PC Specialist ARGB fans and their lighting was controlled by Aura Sync. Originally fans I think were profiled through the BIOS (not sure) by PC Specialst. I never had to touch fan profiles before as they all worked as expected (silent under no workload). Now however, when I reinstalled the system the fans run at a mid-high range around 950 rpm. If I set the fan profile in BIOS to silent regardless what I do they stay at the mid-high range. When I installed the full Aura Crate I could lower the fan speed within there but then the lighting of the fans always returned to red. As far as I know there are no hardware issues. Checking all temperature sensors everything seems to be on the same cool level as before. I did not install any new hardware or software recently, the ambient temperature of my room is the same as before, the components and air filters are dust free and nothing is blocking airflow. I still have about 6 monts platinum warranty period left but I'd prefer to sort this out myself if possible.

Any suggestions or help is very much appreciated.

I wonder if Crate is over riding the fan curve set in the bios? Try opening task manager and kill the crate service/process and see if fan curves return to bios fan curve?

Thak you for your ansver. I tried but did not work. I read on the Asus forum that installing only Aura sync instead of the Aura Crate may solve a lot of issues. I just did that and in that way the lights do not change back to red however, the fans stay on the same mid-high rpm..

Crate can be a bit of nightmare to be honest. Might be worth doing a clean uninstall of it using the uninstaller from asus.com and reinstalling it. Personally I ditched it and iCUE and used Fancontrol to control all fans. Removes the bloatware of the two applications for one thing
