Looks fine to me, though I would get 8GB RAM instead of 16GB - you're probably not going to use the extra RAM. What's the intended use?

This thread is nearly 7 years old, and I'd just like to say I'm still happy with this machine. No problems at all, although I had to replace the battery a year ago. The 16GB of RAM was the right choice, as I run Minecraft modpacks with 8GB allocated. I'm considering replacing it, but there's no hurry, and I'd have no hesitation in coming back to PCSpecialist. I'm spec'ing up a couple of laptops (probably going to go for Fusion Pro IV) for my nieces right now.

Just upgraded to Windows 10 using the Microsoft automatic process, no problems. Didn't even need my licence key.

Does anyone know if there would be any problems replacing the hard drives with SATA SSDs in a machine as old as this? Are modern SATA drives going to work seamlessly with it?

I can't afford to replace this machine at the moment so I want to squeeze a little more life out of it if I can.

SATA is SATA, it's a standard so any SATA drive will work,. Just not M2 drives which are the replacements for SATA.
