My PC Review

Since I have had the PC for nearly one month I thought that I would post a review of it. I've listed the specs at the bottom.

The case is definitely stylish and so easy to use. The airflow seems really good and the side panel easily opens up to access all the internals without the need for taking out screws. The PC is fast. It loads very quickly and everything runs smoothly. I can't say for sure if it's faster than my previous PC, which was only bought in late 2017. I hadn't used my old PC for some time before I got my new one but videos do seem to export somewhat faster. The fans are fairly quiet although they do seem to ramp up randomly at times, even when I'm not doing anything intensive. Note that I do not use the PC for gaming at all, only for video editing & audio mixing.

There are a few negatives. The front USB ports are useless. When they work they are much slower than the red ports at the back. From looking at the specs of the motherboard I had thought that the front ports would be USB 3.2 Gen 2 but this is obviously not the case. Having run several large backups (450gb+) I have found that it's at least twice as slow when my external drive is plugged into one of the 3 front ports. This is slightly annoying as the front ports are easier to plug into than the ones at the back. The other slight annoyance is the RGB lights on the processor cooler always stay on, even when the PC is off. It means that I have to turn off the PSU if I want the RGB lights to turn off. It's not a huge deal but it just seems like a waste of energy having them on when the PC is not in use. I couldn't find a setting to change this in iCUE. The RGB lights on the 3 fans at the front worked for about 10 minutes after I got the PC before turning off. I can't seem to get them to turn back on but it's hardly a big deal since I'm not a gamer and lighting doesn't interest me too much.

We love you Ukraine
Regarding the front USB ports, they may well be plugged into the usb 2 headers on the board by mistake if they’re not reaching desired speeds, worth checking which headers they’re on.

Front lights is likely just the profile in iCue needs configuring.

The motherboard lights is just a setting in the BIOS, you can configure it how you like. I think you also get the option in armoury crate which is the motherboard software

Thanks for the suggestions. The Armoury Crate program sorted out the issue with the lights on the processor cooler. I still can't get the front lights to work through iCUE but as I said before it's not a big deal at all.
