I was quite interested in Microsoft's Illumiroom concept when I first saw the teasers and the reaserch videos (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?25212-Microsoft-IllumiRoom-concept-Backlighting-in-general&highlight=illumiroom), it was a shame that it was essentially canned for not being a consumer item (mostly due to cost so I've read).
However, the research bods have taken this idea one step further (basically adding more projectors and cameras) so now the whole room is the screen!!

Its pretty cool and although it might not make a consumer friendly idea, it certainly would be something cool to see at gaming conventions of arcades (are there still arcades?)...
