This is my first build, which I've now ordered ( I know I probably should have waited for advice). Swapped to a cheaper case, the H500 MasterCase, only saved £11 but anything I can save is a plus. Debating whether I should swap the PSU to the 850 model for when I buy the 4k monitor and to future proof abit. The storage could also be swapped around with 500GB for Samsung 980 drive then pick the PCS 1TB SSD. The £1900 (or as close as) budget was excluding the Simplesurance. Any thoughts on what I could/should change are appreciated.

This would bring you close to your original budget. It's bound to be in pre-production for a while so I'd be keeping my eyes peeled for the 850RMx to come back into stock and making the upgrade when it does.

Thanks Agent. I'll keep an eye out for the 850 PSU. Would the stock CPU cooler be something you'd look to upgrade in future? Would you also always recommend a HDD in most builds? Not sure I'll make use of that much storage but you never know lol. What's the difference in MoBo? The amount of Gen 4 slots?

You're welcome. The B550s I believe actually run Gen 3 Chipset so an X570 board is regarded to be likely to have more longevity. The stock cooler should be absolutely fine for general usage. If you're running it at high load all day every day then you may wish to consider upgrading the cooling.

There's definitely a place for the HDD in the world, they're reliable, cheap and things like music and video get no benefit from being on an SSD. I also find it's a handy place to store a game on that I've not finished but 'might go back to', saves me having to download the whole thing again.

Hadn't realised that about the b550s. Guessing the 970 or 980 would be speed limited on the gen 3 slots then? Hence the X570 suggestion (plus the longevity). Gotten so used to redownloading games that I hadn't even thought of that, had the standard 500gb Xbox One for last 4 years or so lol. I'll generally run my Xbox for 2-3 hours day to day, then around 6+hours every now and again 3 times a month maybe.

Much appreciated. What build you go for at £2000? Anything better performance wise with the extra £70-£100?
