laptop very slow!

My friend has an Acer aspire laptop running windows 10 and it is extremely slow to boot up and very very slow to respond to any typed commands. It is only a few year old and has had little use. Is there a quick fix that a non tech person can use to sort it out please?

As above, but a clean reinstall of Windows will show whether the problem is with Windows (in which case it will perform normally after the reinstall) or with the hardware (in which case it will still be slow after the reinstall).

Maybe contact Acer they should have a support line, its like going maccies and complaining about a burger from burger king. You paid for an Acer product, i am sure you also paid for the support as part of your purchase so why not use them to your advantage
