How long?

after reading post's of people waiting an avg of 100+ days for a RTX3080, is this the same avg wait time for laptops with 3080's in them as well?
What is the new avg wait time for a RTX3000 laptop orders, from paying for it and it arriving at the customers door?
also if it is a hundred days+ what was the point of me paying for fast track service? i mean I'm waiting 100+ days for it!

Laptops are entirely different depending on if they have stocks or not. GPUs on laptops are part of the chassis, they’re not a modular component, so they either have stock or don’t.

Sorry I messed up with my statement above:oops: I forgot to mention that's with an order placed in Dec. (image below)
So by chance what is the average completion time period from buying a 3080 laptop and the customer getting it? Hopefully less!

It's about 10 days if they're in stock.

Sorry, I'm really confused? You ordered a laptop in December and it still hasn't arrived?

I don't understand what the screenshot has to do with? That's not related to laptops at all?

Laptop GPU's are not the same as desktops GPU's. They're a part of the chassis so if the chassis is available, then it's available.

if that screenshot is in reference to an by someone for a desktop with a 3080, bare in mind that a desktop 3080 and a laptop 3080 are completly different thing that just happen to both be gpu's with the same name

Yes, laptop GPU's are nothing like the same as desktop gpu's, they're actually different silicon for the 3080, and power wise, the laptop 3080 is around the same as a desktop 3070.

There is only one chassis that is able to have a 3080 and currently in stock which is the 17.3 Recoil.

The other is the 15" Recoil but that's out of stock until July

Quite frankly, if you're moaning about the wait for the 3080 desktop build, get in line, join the rest of the world.

And why does no one read the stickies when they sign up like they promise they will?

@SpyderTracks
No not me! I'm just asking if anyone has a clue on how much of a back log there is on 3080 laptops? because there is a 6 month back log for desktop 3080s.

edit: I have ordered the Valeon

That is good news! for a moment i Thought I would have to pull the plug on my nearly four grand order and rent GPU's for the rest of the year..

7th June here we come!

Sorry for being obtuse, I thought you were moaning about the desktop GPU delays, apologies for that!

If it's the Valeon, I would just phone and check that they have a 3080 assigned to your order, as they removed them from sale, just make sure there isn't a mistake.

Strange it dose not say the same on the website as what the phone call said about the Valeon Latop case? https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/valeon-17/
They don’t sell the 3080 anymore, I’m surprised they’ve found one for you tbh, when did you order? Remember GPU isn’t a separate component it’s part of the motherboard, and a completely different model to one with a 3070, it’s an entirely different product number.

The 3070 is showing as out of stock when you proceed on it:
