Hidden Object Game on AMD 6870

I am playing a Hidden Object Game which seems to make my GPU get extremely hot (70C) http://www.bigfishgames.com/downloa...sures-of-mystery-island-ghost-ship/index.html. The fan is working overtime to keep the GPU cool. It is not really a graphically intensive game so no idea why it runs so hot. Any ideas?

I have played Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm and the max temp I get on GPU is 73C. Just a bit puzzled how a Hidden Object Game can get it to run so hot.

Does it have a limit FPS feature
because sometimes high end cards playing not very well programmed games render the frames so fast that they overheat

Nailed it, enable vsync in the game or driver.

The game does not have the option to enable or disable vsync. Gorman, when you say enable vsync in driver do you mean CCC?

Maybe it was a reeeeeaaalllly difficult level and the card was trying to help find the objects and got all a bit overexcited when it found the last one (I know I do when I play those damn addictive games!)

These games are really addictive, I have spent more money on these than I have on proper games like Crysis 2 etc.

I went into CCC and changed 'Wait for vertical refresh' to 'Always On' (Catalyst Version 11.4). Same problem persists, by chance I turned down the volume and could hear a whistling noise from the GPU. This noise is not present if I play games like Crysis 2, MOH, COD etc. BAFFLED.........
