Hello 👋.

I have quite a problem on my hand here, yesterday I made a windows update and upon restarting the pc got stuck in a endless loop and recovery didn't help.

After that I tought ok I will just reinstall a new copy of windows, I went in to the BIOS & tried to boot up from the USB it failed with some error I don't remember what it was about. Then I was just browsing the bios and accidentally changed intel RST to ACHI mode and pressed exit and save........ Now I can't even enter the BIOS nor do my USB ports work on the laptop, all I see is the pc specialist logo on the screen and nothing happens after that. I tried to do CMOS by removing the battery and unplugged the main also and left it sit for the night. Today after work plugged all in again and it didn't help 😢. Been looking on the internet for a solution but have found nothing, only threads with similar issues without a solution.

Any ideas what to do? It is s clevo MB laptop from pc specialist.

If it's loading the PCS logo, then you've gone past the BIOS entry.

How are you entering the BIOS?

When I power on the laptop I spam the F2 key as fast as I can, but the BIOS don't show up anymore. I tough maybe use a old keyboard but the USB ports are not responsive also after I saved the setting there.

I tough clearing the cmos will revert it but it remains the same.

Try the del button on boot.

If any of that fails, you'd need to contact PCS about a BIOS flash I think

Just thought, another possibility is to remove the SSD and then try booting into BIOS, that should give an error straight away that there's no boot device and ask if you want to enter the BIOS

Thanks I Wil give this a try right now and see how it goes.

I made a small video of the situation rn what it does, I tried all the F1-12 del buttons etc.

That's so cool, really pleased. I'm surprised changing from RST to AHCI caused that much issue, I can understand it not reading the SSD, that makes sense but it shouldn't have prevented you from accessing the BIOS, that's odd.

Yeah, we rarely close threads, certainly not unless there's a precaution to prevent further posting, so you're free to continue on if you need further help.

Any idea what could be up? I plugged the ssd back in and on boot it is scanning media but can't find the drive

Edit, ok got it to showing again. But now a 3rd issue, I made a Bootable win 11 usb with Microsoft tools but it won't load it .

Are you booting from the usb? You have to set it in the boot order. Or is there an error that showing when it loads?

I powered off the pc and put in the USB, then I go to bios ( boot manager), it shows EFI boot devices (1 windows boot manager and EFI USB device.) when I select the usb the pc restarts and I can see the USB light flashing but nothing is being loaded or appears, waited half and hour. Tried with multiple USB sticks now and non load the win I made with Microsoft media creation tool.

And you've prepared the BIOS for Windows 11? You have to set certain settings before you can install windows 11

I had windows 11 installed previously, but it has been some time now since I have used this method to be honest. With all the bios reset etc, I probably don't know what to select to load it properly.

Just google it, there's loads of info on it, it's only a few settings that need adjusting.

If I remember my old Defiance had more than one USB port but only one of those is used to boot. Try the Usb stick in different USB slot.

I might be wrong but worth a try.
