Hello! Could you check my build?

Hi all. I've put together a mid range build that is very appealing to me as it is not too expensive. Yes I am using older components but I am really quite a casual gamer, a lot of the games I will play are older titles that I have not got round to playing yet. And a lot of time gaming will simply be in Wow, which I admit I play very badly, but I enjoy it, it's super fun. What do you think of my cooling? I was going to go with liquid AIO but its more complicated and I felt there would be more chance of it going wrong? For this CPU, I thought a good air cooler should be ok? I have spec'd it out with an 850 PSU, I would like comfortable overheads, I do not want to push the PSU too hard, and I don't want to skimp on it either, it's very important. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

I think you're actually over-spending in some areas. As the budget is there I would probably consider increasing the CPU to the 5800X3D to cover you for high end gaming without the need to consider any future upgrades. The GPU could be lowered a level or so.

Do you have the configurable link available?

Hi Scott, thanks for your input. Appreciate you getting back to me. Yes I could certainly consider the CPU upgrade, probably a good idea. I think I'd like to keep the 3060ti, as even though mostly my requirements are not high, there are some games I would like to try that actually would be more demanding. I'm only using 1080 resolution on a 24 inch screen, but would kinda like to try Cyberpunk 2077. It does not have to be the best quality, just run smoothly. For most of the games the 3060ti will be overkill but I want room to try more demanding games if I feel like it. Sorry to be unhelpful but I don't know how to get the link? I will try and see if I can figure it out. I'm hopefully planning keeping it for say 5 years. So having a bit more power available now would be helpful later on. I am thinking that the second SSD might be overkill, it probably does not need to be so fast. Thank you again for your help!

How to post the spec explained in this thread, as for GPU, no point in having the power if the monitor isn't capable of handling it (able to output it)

Just for reference because you specifically mentioned a few things I can personally vouch for, I have a 3060Ti running at 1440p 144hz and it runs great. I've also played quite a bit of Cyberpunk with it and it handles it really well, I usually play without Raytracing for higher FPS and smoother gameplay and I'm usually sat above 100FPS

I wouldn't recommend 1080p and a 3060Ti to be honest you wouldn't be getting the most out the card and as the most expensive part in the build you really want to get your monies worth from it

Sorry for not looking it up! I think I copied the link ok.

Thanks very much for the advice on the GPU and monitor. I was not at all sure about it. I actually do have a 32 2k ROG 144 here but didn't think the 3060ti would be good enough for it. So I appreciate the help. If the GPU can comfortably handle the 2k, then that's fine. I can just use the bigger monitor.

Heads up, 2K is very confusing terminology to use. Just confirming you mean 1440p? The 3060Ti would pair well with a 1440p monitor.

Sorry for the confusion. Pretty sure it's a 1440p. So the 3060ti sounds good then. I was not aware there was a difference. Very much appreciate the tweaking and re spec. Especially the advice on the CPU cooling. Thanks for your help!

No worries at all. I think you will be blown away with that system. 3060Ti is perfect for 1440p.

If you had considerations of going for 4k you may want to increase the PSU to 1000w, just to cover a future GPU upgrade of a higher tier.... but otherwise it's a solid platform with many years of top end gaming :)
