Graphics card failing? Not sure.

Hello,

I am not sure if anyone here plays EvE-Online?

But when I am playing my game I sometimes get white boxes that appear on my screen and go, doesntlast more than a second. But ye, white boxes sometimes appear randomly on my screen.

Would this be my graphics card on its way out?

Have you tried a clean install of the graphics driver.

You could also try a benkmarking tool for your gpu that will point out any flaws in your card, i use furmark but it can be quite harsh on your graphics card maybe some other forum members could recommend others. Artifacts can be caused by a good few things but as Vanthus suggested your 1st port of call should be your GPU`s drivers.

I agree with both of the suggestions above.

Can I suggest the following:

1) Install HWMonitor (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html) and check that nothing is overheating.

2) Do a Full Uninstall of your Graphics Driver (via Uninstall Programs should do), restart PC and install the latest version.

3) Run Furmark (http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/) for around 15-25 mins and see if you get any issues

4) If you have recently updated your BIOS, you may have updated it slightly wrong (I had Graphic issues because of this).
If so, re-update the BIOS. If you have an Asus motherboard, if it asks you to update the Bios after you have just updated it, follow the instructions and update your Bios again as the second time should complete the update correctly. (I didn't and that is what caused my own graphics issues.)
If you have not previously updated it, try updating it.
