Hey, This is the first time in a while I've had a lot of disposable income and I really wanted to upgrade my old pc which has a 4th gen i7 and a 1070. I have been doing a lot of research and this is the build I've come up with.

My budget is under £3000 and I would like to get as much performance for gaming and coding for my work while of course keeping it as cheap as possible.

I'm hoping to play all sorts of games on ultra like cyberpunk, red dead 2, total war warhammer 2 etc. I am also considering getting a 144 hz monitor either 2k or 4k, I have not decided yet so any advice on that would be great too.

This is what I have come up with so far, please feel free to give any advice or anything I should change to get more bang for my buck.

Hello mate, very nice build you've got here but some room for improvement.
CPU: 5800X is in a bit of a strange spot pricewise, with the budget you have I would recommend the extra £76 to upgrade to the 5900x. For 50% extra cores that's a bargain. If you stick with the 5800X you can downgrade the mobo to the TUF X-570
RAM: 3600mhz is optimal, although I understand if you want the RGB aspect, 3200mhz will still do the job fine.
GPU: We pair the GPU with the monitor, a 3080 is suited alongside a 1440p superultrawide or 4k 144hz. If you're not rocking one of those we can save you some money, and time in pre-production by choosing a more suitable GPU.
Storage: Not too sure what the 2tb SSD is for. I would recommend an additional 500/512GB M.2 for your os and programs and use the Firecuda to store your games.
Wireless: Upgrade to the AX200, £11 extra for everything you need including bluetooth.
Browser: Chrome is a RAM stealing thief!

Please let us know what your monitor make and model or resolution and refresh rate is, and we can work out what GPU would best suit it.
Thanks! :)

That looks great, Yes I would love to know what would be a great monitor to go with a build like this, Something around the £600 price mark or much less if possible.

Well the 3080 is a 4K 144Hz GPU, you need to spend upwards of £800 to do it justice. You could change the GPU to the 3070 and get one of these and still have an amazing experience...

Thanks for the advice! I hope to play on a 2k 144hz monitor atleast but might go for a 4k monitor if I can find a good one for not too big of a price. I Think I will go with the ryzen 9 5900X after all and change storage too.

I also am just very used to chrome and prefer using it over firefox, just a personal preference :D

Since I'm using a nvidia gpu, shouldn't I try to find a monitor with gsync? or Does freesync/gsync not matter much?

With your current budget I would say that 1440p ultrawide is the way to go. Even the "budget" 4k 144hz monitors will set you back at least £750 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-2...creen-g-mo-15w-lg.html?campaign=affiliate/tag
I see, This looks like a great monitor! I had no idea what kind of monitor would be good so seeing an example is really helpful! I think something like this should be affordable if I save a little bit more while I'm waiting for my pc to get built which I expect will take a long while anyway considering the wait times I have seen for 3080s

Thanks a lot for the help! I very much appreciate it.
