Hello everyone. I ordered a PC a few days ago with the purposes for mostly gaming. My budget was £1350 tops, and my monitor I ordered and received was a MSI Optix G24 Series 24” 1080p. I do plan on getting a Samsung G5 1440p monitor in the future. I just wanted to get your opinions off of it and before it may be too late, if theres anything that may not be good for the PC.

If by any means this is considered as spam then the mods can delete this. The last device I had for gaming was a laptop (Acer Nitro 5), and it was horrendously bad, so I want to make sure that I’m not making the same mistake as I did last time.

For your budget it will be fine.

One thing I would consider is how soon will you be getting a 1440p monitor? if your not getting one for a while it could be worth downgrading to a 2060 as that will be plenty for 1080p and upgrading the CPU to the 5600x and upgrade the GPU when you get the monitor.

I feel like going to the 2060 SUPER and up’ing the CPU to the 5600x, its pretty tempting. I wont be going for the 1440p monitor for atleast another few months.

Personally, I would 100% want the current generation of CPUs if I'm on something that isn't a budget build. That would be the 5600X. If you're on 1080p for now, I'd go for the 2060 Super as a very good stop-gap that will rock 1080p gaming and make a decent stab at 1440p.

You can also switch a few more things around (get the motherboard with WiFi built in, upgrade the PSU to the RMx model, lose the expensive thermal paste) and get a much longer-term build for just £20 over your budget...

The 2060 super is a great GPU for 1080p.

If it's just a few months til you get a 1440p monitor stick with the 3060ti. you won't get your moneys worth out of the 2060 in that time frame

Sometime around this year I plan on getting it. I think I’ll just stay patient and stick with going for the 3060 Ti. My mind easily becomes like spaghetti, so I’ll just stop that and stick with my current order.

I have seen some people complain that the 2060 SUPER would be incapable for letting the CPU hold its max potential (Ryzen 5 5600X), so I’m not really thinking of getting it anymore. And once again, the 3060 Ti is a new GPU so it’ll last a long time, alongside it’ll do perfect for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

The samsung g5 is a nice affordable 1440p gaming monitor to consider

You don't want your CPU to be at 100% when gaming. Even the 3080 won't do that to the 5600X, unless you're doing something stupid like running at 1080p with low settings. You really want the GPU to be running at 100% to get a system that has value for money.

If I were you, I'd spend the extra on the CPU not the graphics card, because it's much easier to upgrade the graphics card down the line. Indeed, most of the designs we spec in this forum are done with the expectation that you will upgrade your graphics card at least once during the life of the machine. Spending extra on the graphics card when you won't be using its full potential for a while is a false economy.

Of course, it's your money and your computer -- I'm just saying what I'd do in your shoes.

I personally would go for the 3060ti but there will be more of a wait on that but nowhere near the wait level of a 3080 assuming its a 5600x 3060ti build

I appreciate the advice! I will take this into thought.
