Display Ports

Hey lads and ladies, I have a quick question about display ports. My current (old-ish) PC has an HDMI, VGA and DVI ports. The even older monitor I was using had only VGA so that was easy, I had to use that cord. Now in readiness for my new PCS build arriving I have bought a new desk and monitor, a gorgeous 27inch curved Samsung, which has an HDMI and DVI port. My question now is, which is best to use? Does it make any difference?

Both will likely carry the same video quality however HDMI carries sound and DVI doesn't so if you want audio out of the monitor then HDMI would be best suited. Otherwise its not important.

I misread DVI as DP (Display Port). >.< Hence not mentioning the sound thing. Thanks for pointing that out Wozza.

Thanks, I've ot seperate subwhoofer and speakers, I'll just use HDMI I think as I have a few kicking about.
