Other than the basic spec, is there any physical difference between the above laptops, eg. quality of case etc.

Im guessing you mean the 15inch versions of both they areof equal build quality but the Optimus is slightly heavier. The Optimus also has slightly better cooling due to the fact its more of a performance laptop due to the fact it handles much more internals expecially when it comes it graphics. why not goto build your own laptop page and compare the two with another as you must compare 3 and see the differences for yourself.
