Hi there PCSpecialist and members!

I would just like to request a case, Cooler Master Elite 430 Desktop PC Case to be specific. The case did use to be on your selection but it looks like its been taken off... Anyway, I would really like to see this case as it had very good value for money, options for extra case fans and a Memory Card reader unit. This is mainly what I was looking for.

Regards

Hi Mr Tom and welcome to the forums! Just an FYI, you could choose to purchase the case and send it into PCS yourself if you really want it (and PCS won't/can't supply it) just a thought :)

Hello there Tom, nice to see you on the forum. We did have this case on the site for a week or two while we could not source the 310. I will check in with the stock team and see if the 430 will be making a return.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I looked into this, I found the exact case on eBay brand new at £35.94 with free shipping. A good deal IMO! Looks like I'm going to have to do that IF they can't get the case in soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I really liked the look of the case as well. If you could check with the stock team that would be greatly appreciated, otherwise, I will have to buy the case and send it into you guys.

nice spec btw, a few things.

- ditch the wifi card altogether, go for a set of homeplugs. - you can read about them here
- ditch the extra case fan, these can be added later quite easily.
- i'd personally suggest going for a slightly better case
- i'd also suggest dropping the SDD completely (for now) and use that money to get a stronger gpu (if its for gaming ofc) say a 770. You can always add in a SSD later on.
- everything else looks fine to me mate. Whats it for btw?

You won't get any problems with the case but if it is for gaming I would try to get a better case. What are you planning to use it for?

Yeah, I'm planning on using the computer for gaming. Probably running high performance games like Battlefield 4 etc. I was originally going for the GTX 760 but a couple of people said change it to the GTX 660. Looks like I will have to change my PSU if I go for the 760 as well. The minimum PSU is 650W just for the card. Planning on taking it up to a 750W PSU.

About the case, what do you recommend. I just looked into the PCS ALPHA TRION 7622B BLACK CASE and that seems reasonable. What do you think?

About the Powerline Adapters. I plan on having the computer in my bedroom, and of course the WiFi is downstairs. No chance of me running a ethernet cable through the roof and floor! :p I was going to buy the PCI-E card for wireless as my laptop works fine on wireless from my room. But the adapters look like a good route. Do I buy 2 adapters? or just 1? I dont think it would work with just 1 will it?

Hi Tom,

this is what I would go for

Case
COOLERMASTER HAF 912 PLUS MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4670K (3.4GHz) 6MB Cache if its just for gaming, an I7 isnt really needed. The I5 is more than good enough. All the "K" means is that you can overclock the cpu if you want to. Personally I'd keep the K version, you never know if you want a slight boost in the future and its only a few quid more than the standard I5 4670.
Motherboard
ASUS® Z87M-PLUS: m-ATX, USB3.0, SATA 6.0, XFIRE
Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT)
Graphics Card
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 770 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready this is going to be considerably stronger than a 660 or a 760.
Free Item
FREE BATMAN: ARKHAM ORIGINS GAME with GTX 660 & 7 Series GPUs!
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
120GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW)
2nd Hard Disk
500GB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD5003AZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM
Memory Card Reader

Power Supply
