Heya! You’re almost there! If you’re able to stretch the budget, I’d highly recommend an AMD CPU for these uses. Would you be able to provide a configurable link for this build so we are more easily able to suggest changes? Thanks!

Hi Junior, budget is budget, I mean I could just go on but I've set a hard limit on this one. It's either the 11400 or AMD 3600, so.

I think this must be a typo, sixty million frames per second is a bit much for even the competitive scene.

We might be able to get the 5600X in this budget. It’ll be tight but I reckon @JUNI0R can sort you out 👍
@AgentCooper if you are going to be a pedant, you need to be right. The OP stated 60mHz not 60MHz and that is 1 frame every 16.67 seconds, not 60 million frames per second. Not to worry - only out by a factor of 1 billion 🤪

It was all lower case so I think it’s open to interpretation… Like a David Lynch movie. Anyway, let’s not hijack the thread from its original purpose any further 👍

Well… I got close but not under budget. Sixteen pounds over. This build would certainly blast 1080p gaming, for more in depth editing work I’d ideally want 32GB of RAM. But extra can always be popped in later, same with storage for your projects. Adding more memory and drives is a simple task. For future proofing, if you can budget for an 850w PSU, that may pay dividends…

Is £11 okay? If so, this is what I'd recommend (y)

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE Significantly better airflow case
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4) More capable CPU for CPU bound tasks
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WiFi (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! Ample motherboard for the 5600X
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) As Cooper has mentioned, 32GB would be ideal here but 16GB should be plenty to get you off the ground
Graphics Card
12GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 - HDMI, DP, LHR The extra VRAM will come in useful on this card, the NVIDIA line also has better softwares that make it a more ideal choice for photo and video editing
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) Stepped down to a single drive for now. Storage is a very easy upgrade to add down the road, a HDD as a file storage drive or speedy 500GB drive for OS would be an ideal addition
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET A still high quality PSU that saves a bit of cash over the RMx
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)

Thermal Paste

Many thanks, I need to do some thinking, and I was so, so sure. Ha!
Either build is solid for what you’re looking to do, we’ve both compromised on certain areas we’d ideally have like to have bolstered a little more. That’s why we often ask if there’s any wiggle room in a tight budget (unfortunately £1400 is tight by today’s inflated prices with high demand and silicon shortages, we could have built an absolute monster with that money a couple of years ago).

If there was an extra £150-£200 available on this one you could have it all. If you find anything down the back of the sofa, let us know and we can tweak it further 🙂👍
