they are listed new to old, and are all since 3pm today.

the only things i've installed are the new origin, bf3 beta and the 285. nvidia drivers, the first thing i did was remove the nvidia drivers back to 280.36 as they where fine but it's not helped.

can some one please help as i am way out of my depth with this

cheers

Try a system restore to before the problem started.
This may sound a bit simplistic, but Ive found it very effective in most situations, barring a hardware fault,
in your case possibly a RAM problem,in which case try one RAM module at a time.

Not sure if this is a coincidence, but i had the BF3 beta installed and Origin, and i was unable to shut down, restart, bring the pc out of sleep or even end the BF3.exe process. Had to hard re-boot and then uninstalled it and it's all fine again. Odd...

Corfate did you reinstall origin as that is the same problem i had, my system only shuts down if i do not have it installed on my system at all.

@ OP try uninstalling origin and see if that solves your problem as that seems to have a few bugs at the moment with it being Beta.

uninstalled origin and so bf3 is gone as well, but i just had these within 3mins of each other

ran the windows mem test over night: the extended one. does anyone know where it saves the result file, as it wasn't open after logging back in as it states: or does that mean it found nothing?

cheers

i found the mem test results through event viewer and as far as i can tell it found no faults.
I should have mentioned i used system restore last night to go back to a time i know was stable, but no joy there.

so i take it a reinstall of win7 is my only action at this point? i must admit i've been trying to avoid doing that due to a bad experience upgrading win95 lol

Reinstalling windows is a lot easier now,
follow the instructions to do do a clean install,"recovering windows"in the welcome booklet,
backup any data you need before you do.

If the reinstall doesn't work you could try removing memory sticks and trying one stick at a time in each slot, to try to isolate if there is a bad memory stick or slot.

How good is the memory test at picking up problems? I've never used it, so I don't know if it picks up all memory problems or not (all opinions appreciated on this).

Here's a link to someone else who had BSOD with the same "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" message.

think i'll go and find my booklet, i'll let you know how i get on. i'm now at the point with this that i've realised there are a few stages (like grief) to problems like this...panic...depression...desperation...acceptance...mania lol but the icecream vans just been so i'm feeling a little better now :)

When you do the reinstall instead of selecting format on the drives just choose delete as this will wipe it clean including any partitions and as vanthus said make sure you backup anything important you need to an external device first.

i'll give that a try Fear, i'm backing stuff up right now: might take a while as most of my games are through steam but it saves downloading them again.
I take it i'm best downloading drivers fresh after the install rather than backing them up, just in case they are causing all of this?

Yeah thats what i do mate clean install and a fresh D/L of all the drivers just hope this sorts your problems out and 1 last thing try your system before putting origin on and then see if you get problems again after you put that on and you might want to leave most of your stuff off just incase this is the problem and you need to do a clean install again.

Adding bsods for tech support to see in one place, as i've already lost some.

It would now appear to be a hardware fault,
possibly RAM as suggested earlier.
Give tech support a call tomorrow.

Just an update, it was indeed a dodgy stick of ram. 18000 errors on a single memtest run, which just shows windows memory checker is not the most accurate. Cheers to everyone for their help and to pcs for having it all fixed within 2 days of speaking to tech support.
