Best gaming PC for first time buyer

Hi.
I am looking for some recommendations on the best possible gaming pc on a budget of £1000.

I‘m new to this so all the specs on the custom build page don’t mean much to me. So what would be the best combination?

The budget is excluding accessory's like monitors etc etc.

I like to play games like MS flight sim 2020 and war zone etc etc. (Will also be looking at other games on stream) so a system that could handle this would be great (if possible).

I would appreciate any advice and combination screenshots back.

Cheers Dave

Slightly over-budget but will be useful when it comes to MSFS20. Not entirely sure what you mean by watching other games on stream? I assume you mean you will have someone else's stream running while playing? If so, then the 3600 will be fine...I used to play games as well as have 2 streams running in the background:

Sorry, I meant finding and playing games from stream. (Or playing games I haven’t seen or heard of before) so my thinking was, if my pc can play flight sim for example then chances are it can play most games

No worries. The spec I listed above will do what you need fine....I'd still try and find the extra budget to go for the 3600XT if you can...whilst MSFS20 uses much less CPU power than previous iterations, it still benefits from better CPU resources
Awesome. Ye I can stretch the budget a little. Thanks for the advice. Really appreciate it. 👍

Even if you are knowledgeable, things move on so quick it's difficult to keep up. I have owned PCs for just over 25 years, consider myself very knowledgeable but bought my previous system in 2012....went to buy a new one in January and I had no clue on what was good any more...it's taken me some time to be comfortable with everything so I can only imagine how it is for people who have little PC knowledge
I have no hope then 🤣

considering going with your set up but perhaps upgrading the CPU to the 7??

with this, it would easily play war zone?

War Zone doesn't need an R7 as most of the load is on the GPU (the recommended CPU spec is an R5 1600 so way lower). The R7 might be beneficial for the flight sim but, to upgrade to the R7 whilst keeping the 2060 (the 2060 is recommended for flight sims) would push your budget to £1300 including the cooler the R7 needs

Ok I understand what your saying.
Think I’ll go with your original spec recommendation then. 👍

Basically ye. Iv had lots of different inputs.
and war zone would be my primary go to game over flight sim.

I don’t mind upgrading in the future and as a starting PC I don’t think it’s too bad.

I do appreciate your recommendations though

By going with that spec you pretty remove the ability to upgrade the CPU in the future.

The new Intel cpus are out Q1-2 next year and are almost certain not to be compatible with existing architecture.

that means any future upgrades of cpu would need to be from current models (while they last).

However, I guess you can keep the case and buy a new motherboard and cpu in a couple years.

It’s a really poorly specced PC generally, it has an outdated processor, poor platform, the PSU is weak, the case just isn’t suitable at all, and neither is the cooler.

Seriously it’s a really poor build, it’s imperative to have a good base that can support upgrades, that doesn’t in any way.

@Nursemorph i went with this set up in the end.

Whoever recommended that spec to you completely sold you down the river. They have clearly suggested what they have rather than what is the best way to spend your money.

Certain types of people always try and justify what they have by recommending it to others as being good. Whilst it will do what you wish it to do, you are going to be kicking yourself in a year or so when it's absolutely dusted and needs a whole host of money thrown at it to upgrade.

Even the configuration is a mile off as purchasing a single stick of DDR RAM is just wild.

As previously suggested, it is your money and you are absolutely free to do with it what you wish. I only add my comments in to firstly make you aware that it's not one persons opinion that you are way off, it's anyone with any knowledge at all... and to make it visible for anyone searching the forum in the future. This should definitely be a "what not to do" thread.

Oh I missed the single stick of RAM, that’s just barking, it’s not like it’s a new thing either.
