Also, does anyone know how i can find the CL of the memory I've selected, Corsair seems to have a few variants of this memory?

  1. Budget is up to £3000 but would prefer to spend less where possible.
  2. I don't want to have to upgrade to play GTA6 on the higher end of settings at 2k resolution on 1 screen.
  3. I don't stream, or record game play etc.

Looks pretty good, but what is it for? It's difficult to comment without knowing uses.

If it's just for gaming then the RAM is massive overkill though and a waste of cash. Games are only just breaking the 16GB threshold with the vRAM being more important for now.

I would save on the RAM and storage and look to prop up the PSU and aim for a better brand of cooler (don't need the paste either).

I would be more inclined to go for a better monitor, 144hz would be the optimum refresh rate. There are good options nowadays, I think the IIYAMA is very budget and won't offer a premium experience to match the premium build.

Silver warranty should be on there for the sake of £5.

Thanks for the input, yeah I think i will take your advice on the screen & ram.

It's just for gaming and lately I mostly play Minecraft lately lol. Figured the RAM is overkill but I've never had such a nice system so going crazy was tempting :). I also play EU4 a lot which is single core intensive from what I understand.

I think I'd also like to give Starfield and Cyberpunk a go again, both don't run great my current FX8350, 16GB RAM and RX580.

Also just be able to run GTA6 when it's out on high settings.

When you say prop up the PSU, do u mean getting a slightly bigger one?

If you include the link from the bottom of the spec I can go in and propose some changes. Your build with remain intact, it creates a completely new config.

As you've configured it will run nicely but I think you can do a little better for your money. Won't know for certain without going in and swapping things around though to see how it reflects on cost.

I would opt for a minimum 1000w PSU nowadays for a new build. The GPUs seem to still be going up in power consumption so always better to aim high so that if you want to upgrade you can without worry of a power ceiling. The 1200w Shift is the best option as it has the new ATX3.0 components, but 1000w covers most options you could want.

I wouldn't have the PCS cooler though. If you want to save money the AK620 air cooler is the way to go, otherwise it's Corsair all the way with the H100x being the starting point of what I would get for an AIO.

Presuming ITRO £2500 below is a good option. The GRE GPU performs a little better than the 4070 in a number of scenarios. The only drawback is if you want Raytracing or are looking to get into VR. AMD are a little behind in both. The 4070 you selected is decent, but for NVidia the pick of the bunch is the 4070Ti Super (Unfortunately a lot more cash). The GRE is the best value, but it's swings and roundabouts really. It's just something for you to consider.

For the monitor, you're looking at around £250-£300 for a budget friendly decent option. Below is just one example. If you post up in the monitors section what you're looking to spend there are more experienced members that can offer advice.

Perfect, thanks a lot for your input.

yeah, I don't think I;m going to pay the Nvidia 4070Ti prices. It's tempting but I think it might be better just to spend that on the screen. I think I might include the ASUS 31.5" 1440p screen, it's 450 ish but I would prefer to buy it all from PCS. Amazon is a definate no.

This puts the price to 2600 but I think I'd be ok with that. Only change is the screen.

Looks a decent enough monitor in specs. I think you're probably over-paying for it but if it's to be a one stop shop then it's a fair shout. You may notice a little screen door effect at that size mind you. It's quite a big vertical height to have 1440p resolution at.

SpyderTracks

We love you Ukraine
For some context, a 32" 1440p screen is roughly the equivalent of having a 28.5" 1080p screen, it's a 1.19 x increase

For 1440p 27" is the sweetspot

For 1080p, it's 24"

Over that and you start to see pixelation and generally reduces quality.
