Hi there
I would very much appreciate some help and suggestions with the specs for my new PC build.
Principle use that will tax the system will be Davinci Resolve Studio editing 4K videos. Some can be quite long so hopefully it will handle rendering efficiently.
There will also be some photo editing but nothing else particularly taxing (general office type tasks, browsing, watching YouTube videos when I should be working etc.)
Note: I’m not interested in games on this PC nor LEDs etc.
I know my 4-year 34-inch ultrawide monitor (Samsung WQHD SJ55W) is not ideal but this is next on the list and will be replaced in a few weeks. I love the real estate of this though and I also have a vertical 24 inch to one side that I tend to use for documents etc.
Some concerns that spring to mind:
The power supply is sufficient (without wasting money)
The case is big enough to allow plenty of airflow but not unnecessarily (stupidly) large for the sake of it.
Is the memory speed correct for the MB or is something more suitable?
GPU - Is it worth going up to the RTX 4080 / 4080 Super?
The following build is my initial ideas.
Budget – around £3,200K. HOWEVER, if there is something lacking, I can push the budget up slightly as I would rather that than be frustrated. Likewise, I’d appreciate any advice about any overspending 😉
Please do pick it apart – thanks in advance.
Jay
