I have had my PCS system for 17 months and everything has been fine...until last week, after a few hours of basic use or when gaming (even simple games like Red Alert) the PC slows right down. Scrolling takes ages, delayed response to input etc. On reboot the system simply shuts down, any attempt to restart fails until the PC has cooled then on boot I get a 'Boot Failure Detected' message, continuing to reboot is successful and everything is fine again for a few hours.
Taking the side off the case releases a lot of heat. I am wondering if it is the processor (or could it be the graphics card) that is overheating.
What is my best way to check for someone with basic knowledge.
