Alright, so I ordered my pc last december for Xmas and it was supposed to be great, I looked around online and thought that PCspecialist looked good and therefore decided to select the parts and order my PC from them. After my PC first arrived everything seemed great, yet within 2 weeks of me using it my Hard drive developed a fault and quickly failed. However, after contacting support this was replaced by the next day and the service given to me was very good. :)

Then the pc had worked very well for about 4 months, after which this time the RAM then went faulty and stopped working, this was again replaced fairly quickly after calling tech support and my pc was up and running once more. By this point I was semi annoyed to have 2 major faults with the PC, yet I also understand that parts go faulty so I carried on and didn't mind.

However, about 2 weeks ago my pc went faulty again, the PC was rebooting randomly without error, freezing and crashing whenever I attempted to do pretty much anything. I then tried running Prime95 to test my PC and this would either crash the PC almost instantly, or it would give in error within 2 minutes and tell me a hardware fault was detected. I called tech support once more and this time I asked for a refund, when I asked I was told that I had to give the company one chance to have the whole PC back and repair it, and this i thought was fair, since they had only replaced parts previously.

After generating my RMA and sending the PC back last Tuesday, I checked the site each day to see if there were any updates on my PC, on Friday I saw that my pc had been "fixed" and that the PSU had been replaced and that various hardware tests had been performed and that the PC had passed.

So, I thought great my pc is fixed and should be back on Monday. Monday came and went without any sign so I called up on Tuesday to find out what had happened to my PC, after speaking to someone who then contacted DHL to find out what was wrong, he found out that the order hadn't been processed for some fault of DHL and that they would attempt to contact me when my order would be coming. I understand that PCspecialist have no control over the poor service that DHL provided, Its just another part of my unluckyness it seems.

Anyway, the PC arrived back today and I was pretty happy to get back off my old Dual core athlon 6000+ and back onto this pc which i hoped would now be working. After looking inside the PSU had been changed as stated in the fault report, as had the RAM, It also wasnt mentioned in the fault report, but the motherboard was either cleaned a lot or replaced, I'm not sure which this was since I'm no expert.

After removing the foam from inside the PC and making sure everything was seated properly I plugged everything in and turned it on. The first thing i actually noticed was how slow it seemed to load windows. I then opened CPU-Z and saw that my CPU was running at 800mhz rather than the 3.2Ghz it was supposed to be running at, after seeing this I thought it must have just been Cool 'n' Quiet reducing the frequency since i wasnt doing anything. I decided to check the BIOS just to make sure and amazingly I found that the CPU was running at a multiplier of x4, not Auto or X16 like it should have been. I cant even begin to think why it would have ever been set to that value by anyone that was fixing it nor why it would have not been changed back to its default before it was shipped back to me, had I have been less pc literate, then I may never have noticed this.

After setting the clock settings back to Auto, I then booted the PC up and checked that the clock speeds were running correctly and the speed now was runnning at the proper speed. I then went to join my friends in a game of borderlands, I opened the game, proceeded to join and the instant the game loaded my pc crashed and rebooted without warning. I really hoped this was just some kind of fluke and that the game caused the crash, but it wasnt. After letting the PC reboot i tried again to play the game without avail, the screen froze and then the pc rebooted. Once windows was back up and running again I decided to run Prime95 (One of the programs that was said to have been run all night Thursday while with Pcspecialist) and within under 60 seconds, it was telling me Hardware failure detected, and still is as i write this post.

If I try and play any game the pc will crash randomly after random amounts of time, or will just hang, exactly as it was doing before I sent the pc back to be repaired.

This is really very disappointing, that the first day I recieve the Pc back it repeats the problems I had before I sent it. I'm baffled as to how it passed the benchmarks and tests such at Prime95 and the only way I can see it being able to pass these was in the underclocked state that it arrived in which really raises questions to the person that worked on it.

Tomorrow I will be calling up to get a refund, I wanted to make this post to just express my disappointment with the service I've had and hopefully help explain the situation that I'm in. :(

Sorry for leaving such a long post here, I felt the need to let out a little bit of annoyance and explain everything fully and saw the forums as the best place.

Hi Serion, thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear the machine has been giving you trouble.

This issue is definately one for our customer services guys who will be made aware of your troubles as soon as possible. Im afraid its not something a lowly tech like myself can deal with outright.

All i can say is wow, it was downclocked to what? Thats not something i have seen before.

Like any company who provides a service sometimes things can go wrong and we are certainly not immune. Now its up to our customer service guys to get you to a resolution that will make you a happy chappy once again.

I would suggest giving them a call as soon as possible to get a resolution, or if you would like to PM me your details and a good time for a call back i will be happy to pass it on.
