Help with 2 similar Elimina laptop specs

Hi all, as per title, I'm looking for help deciding between 2 quite similar Elimina laptop specs. Budgetwise would like to keep below £2k, around £1.5k mark would be better. Use case will be photo/video editing, plex & kodi streaming, gaming. I haven't been playing many remotely modern games on my current setup so would be good to be able to play stuff like the more recent total war games, helldivers 2, space marine 2 when that comes out... Portability is not really a concern, but I don't have the space for a desktop setup at the moment. Coming off a rather old/bad laptop at the moment so either will be a big improvement.

Questions

1) The 17.3 model lets me go up to an RTX 4070 GPU vs 4060 on the 16 model, but it only lets me add 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM vs 4800 MHz DDR5 in the 16. How much, if any, will the difference in RAM close the performance gap?
2) There's not a huge price difference between PCS PRO RAM and Corsair RAM. Is there any reason I'd ever go for PCS PRO?

Anything else I've missed? I don't think the difference between a 17.3 inch and a 16 inch screen will be a great concern for me.

Thanks,

I guess a query from me would be whether portability is something you're bothered about - in theory any way the 16" should be more portable than the 17.3 but that's fairly marginal.

The 17.3 vs 16 in terms of GPU vs RAM - if you're a gamer, I'd always say the GPU will have a larger performance effect than the RAM but for non gaming purposes the faster RAM could help (not sure I've never used photo/video editing software etc).

No, no concerns about portability, I just don't have room for a more permanent desktop setup so I need to be able to tuck it away somewhere, but it doesn't need to travel. I'd have it on my lap some of the time but I do that now with my current 17.3 anyway.

I suppose my main concern would be longevity, how much longer would the one laptop be relevant than the other and would it be worth the extra £300-odd?

Also, can anyone speak to the build quality of the chassis? I've had previous laptops, MSI and Aorus I think, go at the hinges which was a pain.

With a laptop, the first bottleneck will be the gpu which you can’t upgrade so you put as much into the gpu as possible. So the 17” would be a better buy from that perspective.

Also be aware that laptop gpus are less powerful than desktop equivalents, so a laptop 4070 will be around a desktop 4060, just over. So that would get you a mid range experience at 1440p unless you reduce settings. Really for comfortable gaming at 1440p you want a 4080

I would tend to stick with corsair RAM as it’s a known quantity.

Chassis build quality is pretty solid
