CD/DVD drive just stopped working??? help!

Hey guys, Got a PC from PC Specialist about 2 months ago. Everything working fine. I tried to burn a iso to a cd. not my first time using it. I got a error message half way thr. now my cd drive is recognised still but it wont recognise any cd's dvd's even if they arent home burnt cd's.

Please help... when i try to get the drive to read a cd it just opens the drive door and tells me to insert a disc even tho its already in there.

Ive tried to uninstall the drive and reinstall it but to no avail.

Any idea? Just my luck its 2pm on a sat and tech support shut at 1pm lol

Sounds like a problem with the drive, it may have failed or need flashing with new firmware :(

Please call our tech support on 0844 499 4000 and we'll guide you through correcting the issue. If the drive has failed we'll send you a new one out next day :)

Thanks for the reply bright spark. I have tried everything possible to me over the weekend including flashing the firmware with the new 1.01 firmware direct from the manufacturer, this gave no joy either. I do think the drive is kapoot. Just waiting on 9am to arrive to contact cust serv. Thanks for help tho. :))
