Advise on Desktop Spec

My current desktop is as below. I have an issue that it is not compatible with HP Thunderbolt Docking Station and is not compatible with Windows 11. The purpose of the desktop is just normal office working & internet browsing, no gaming or other highly demanding tasks. I was using this previously with a switch so I had desktop and laptop connected simultanously and switching with a button.

Can somebody propose a spec that would fulfill these requirements and would reuse what is possible from my current spec?

I have not thought about maximum budget, as previously I paid about 800 pounds, so I think maybe 400 pounds would be reasonable, however, maximum would be 800 / 900 pounds.

400 wouldn't get you anything at all

Prices on components have risen quite substantially over the last few years due to inflation and logistics costs increasing substantially, as well as general silicon shortages.

So what 900 would have got you in 2017 is probably around £1300 these days.

What I mentioned in the previous post is my assumption based on my limited knowledge. I would be looking for an equipment what is reasonable at current market price that fulfills my requirements. I am not looking for the most expensive stuff, as I am using this desktop occasionaly and only for not demanding task e.g. typing this post...

So we'd need the max budget otherwise we have no idea what to work to.

Max budget isn't dependent on anything, it's the available budget you have for this purchase.

I wouldn't save anything from the tower itself but I would definitely transfer the Windows license. That saves £100.

Below is a modern standard. If you wanted to save a bit then 16GB of RAM would be absolutely fine, but I wanted to keep the dual stick approach at 6000Mhz for optimum spending hence why I chose the 32GB.

With your uses in mind the below should last at least a decade, more than likely 2 in honesty.
