PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Hi two questions i'm hoping someone can help me with as my grandson has me bamboozled!

I agree with the choice of AMD CPU over Intel, it's a no brainer. I'm not sure of the 7700XT as a GPU though. The NVIDIA 4070 seems a better choice. Less power (only needs an 8 pin connector) and it's recently had a price drop.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Crap Battery Life

Gaming laptops are portable in that you can easily move them around. They aren't meant to be used for any length of time without being plugged in. It's made worse by the fact battery technology hasn't kept up with power hungry hardware, apps and bloatware like MS Windows.. 2-3 hours seems...

Watch this and then redo as an AMD build. Intel so called 14th gen is just a complete rip-off.

The GPU you have chosen will not get close to 60 FPS in City Skylines II, even at low settings. Check out Gamers Nexus review for details.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Starfield

Starfield seems set to become the latest "will it run Crysis" meme. It's brutal on GPUs and I'll be interested in the CPU requirements given BGS games are notoriously greedy in that area. Fun game to play though, just dial down the settings on your laptop, probably medium at best.

I nearly went for that but I had to have the watch. Let's hope it's not some cheap plastic toy. Fallout 76 anyone?

Got the Starfield constellation edition this morning. Was a rather painful £250. Sadly the scalpers are already selling them on ebay for £350 and up.

The OTP gets sent on dispatch, not on delivery day (unless it's same day). You will need to contact PCS and ask them the procedure at their end. It's quite likely they've come across it before.

Not the worst card from Nvidia of late and decent power to performance. Probably just sway towards the AMD but if you are borderline on PSU then perhaps Nvidia.

Especially as it was going for around £600-£700 at the time. It's £250 now so almost decent entry level given the still daft prices for later models.

OK so I'll play devil's advocate. Both the 3060 and 2060 show big increases. Both have 12GB memory. Coincidence? Edit: BTW I'm not saying that would be a good choice to make!
