Well, as long as it all works just the way it should, I'm happy. Just waiting for the "it's on its way to you!" email now :)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Built, tested and ready for delivery... in less than 12 hours?!

Had 3 emails from PCS today to tell me that my computer is being built (7:30am) then testing and configuration (10:45am) and then ready for dispatch (6:30pm), all in under 12 hours! Should I be slightly concerned that this has happened so quickly (don't get me wrong, I'm more than ready for my...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Range of cases which incorporate BluRay tray is limited

I'm a retro gamer with a large library of PC CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays. Having an internal optical drive isn't a necessity but is definitely a pro for somebody like myself, albeit niche. It's a shame that case selection isn't better worked on the configurator, tbh. It would be great if you could...

What are those 5 cases, @Nursemorph?

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Looks like it'll be back in stock in a week. I was given the option to choose a placeholder case but I think I'll probably hang fire. It's been 11 years since I bought a new rig so I think I can wait another week or so ;)

Brilliant. Just about to click 'order' and the Fractal Define 7 case has disappeared! :(

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Okay, definitely going with the 3900X. The price difference between that and the 3800X is really not a huge amount. Going to stick with 16GB for now. Final (?) spec... PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Thanks, I'll take a look at those options. I'd have probably just opted for 32GB in the first place but it looks like PCS are out of stock on 16GB 3600MHz RAM. Perhaps I'll wait a few days.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Sounds like a plan. The only reason I went for the Ironwolf over the Barracuda was the 7200 vs 5400RPM, but I guess it's a luxury that I don't really require.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Regarding the STRIX X570-F vs. B550-PLUS I'm going to stick with the STRIX as I will also be using the computer for video editing and this'll give me a CPU upgrade option if I feel that I need to in the nearish future. Other than that, I've taken everything else on board. Thanks chaps :) Case...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

Thanks Scott. The only reason I've got the big storage drives is that I have a LOT of TV shows and 1080p/4K movies which I stream to Plex. If I lost these it wouldn't be the end of the world (ie. no RAID) but in the meantime, they've got to go somewhere and they're too big to move to a cloud.

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST High-end Rig

I'm approaching the top of my budget with this. I can go higher but it's more a case of not wanting to if I can avoid it! Though, if it's a game changer, I'm happy to top it up.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming & Streaming - Good setup or overkill?

Thanks Scott! I'll take a look at that, compare it with me and come up with something a bit less pricey :)

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming & Streaming - Good setup or overkill?

That is the plan Nursemorph and I like that idea. The only thing that put me off was simply aesthetics, but you're right, I don't *need* a 27" screen for streaming. I've actually got an old 2560 x 1440 27" Dell monitor which I'm using right now on my old setup. Perhaps I can purchase the...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming & Streaming - Good setup or overkill?

I don't really have a budget in mind but obviously, if I can save money by toning things down a bit, that would be great. If I can keep it under £3000 with the monitors (and a new gaming chair) then I'd be happy. As you can see in the picture, there would be room for two 27" monitors but I...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming & Streaming - Good setup or overkill?

Dropped the above into PC Part Picker and all checked out apart from this flag: " The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair TXM Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to...

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Gaming & Streaming - Good setup or overkill?

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new system which will be for work (nothing more than Microsoft apps, maybe some video editing) and to play and stream retro (my consoles are connected to a multi-SCART switcher which is in turn connected to an HDMI convertor which will connect to the capture card)...
