External Hard Drive

An external hard drive is quite literally a hard drive enclosed in a solid case which you can connect to your computer by USB or firewire, depending on the drive. An external hard drive can benefit your computing experience in many ways, some of which include: Extra storage capacity - an external hard drive provides extra storage capacity. Backup - you can use an external hard drive to backup your important files, videos and images. Improved performance - in some circumstances, for example on slower hard drives, data can be accessed quicker from an external hard drive than the computers internal hard drive. Portability - external hard drives allow you to transfer large amounts of data from one computer to another easily.
