Monitor
Monitors come in a variety of types, each with unique features tailored to different needs. Here's an overview of the main features to look for and the types of monitors available:

Key Features:

  • Resolution: Indicates the number of pixels on the screen (e.g., Full HD 1920x1080, 4K 3840x2160, etc.). Higher resolution means sharper, more detailed images.
  • Refresh Rate: Measured in Hertz (Hz), the refresh rate refers to how many times per second the screen refreshes the image. Higher refresh rates (like 120Hz, 144Hz, or 240Hz) offer smoother motion, beneficial for gaming and fast-paced visuals.
  • Response Time: Measured in milliseconds (ms), it indicates how quickly a pixel changes from one color to another. Lower response times reduce motion blur and are ideal for gaming.


Panel Type:

  • IPS (In-Plane Switching): Offers wide viewing angles and accurate color reproduction, great for creative work and general use.
  • TN (Twisted Nematic): Known for fast response times but has limited color accuracy and viewing angles. Often favored in budget gaming monitors.
  • VA (Vertical Alignment): Balances between TN and IPS, offering better color and contrast than TN and good response times, but may have some ghosting issues.


Other Features:

  • Aspect Ratio: Common ratios include 16:9 (standard widescreen), 21:9 (ultrawide), and 32:9 (super ultrawide). Ultrawide ratios provide more screen space for multitasking or immersive gaming.
  • Color Accuracy: Color accuracy and range (e.g., sRGB, DCI-P3) are important for photographers, designers, and video editors who need true-to-life colors.
  • HDR (High Dynamic Range): HDR support enhances brightness, color depth, and contrast, creating more lifelike visuals, especially in compatible media and games.
