Surge protector issue?

I added a new surge protector to my recent epic pc purchase, but I'm a little confused; there's only a single light showing and I've no idea what the 'neon indicator" is supposed to mean!

I'm used to a 2 light system on surge protectors, one for power and one for protection active. I've googled the manufacturer (smj), but can't find anything useful!

Normally it would just be lit as active, out as cut circuit.

There appears to be a second light position but nothing there. Along with a circle logo "neon surge active indicator". I'm assuming something else should be lit up?

Perhaps it means that if there is an active surge, the neon indicator will light?
