rtx 3070 sales preference according to upgrade / build ?

I went into building at 21 WD,it was also tested and awaiting dispatch.Today 22 WD It just got dispatched,once you get past the long pre production time it’s a really quick process.

Anybody else have any updates on their 3070 builds entering the building phase? I'm currently sitting on 15 WD, heading into 16 tomorrow, wondering if we're creeping into the high teens for building phase starting or if it's still roughly 21-24 WD's?

Any update? I'm only on day 11 mind but interested to see when others went to build.

Pc specialist told me 3-6 months but in guessing that's a bit of hyperbole surely.

@NileyCoyote I'm on 19 WD's today, and support told me yesterday that they would expect it to hit building by the end of the week. I'll update here again on the day I got into building so you can get an idea of someone roughly a week and a bit ahead of you (y)

So many mixed messages coming from support mind. Probably just a bum saving pr exercise to cover themselves but it's not very helpful.

If you go to the configuration page the 3070 is now blanked out and if you proceed with order then it says that it's out of stock with an ETA of 01/10/2021 for re-stock....

Not sure if this means for new orders or for any orders that haven't reached the building stage yet. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Spoken to customer service and they said that it applies to all orders, even ones in the queue unfortunately. I queried that if it didn't have a (pre order) tag next to the 3070 when I ordered would this affect it, he said that it should of had one and that must have been a site error. I have been checking the website regularly since mid July and it never had the tag but did grey out over the weekend so I'm not sure what to make of that one :unsure:

Any who, he did say that they are getting stock fairly regularly now (potentially weekly) because the situation is improving steadily, so I would hope that this isn't going to extend the wait time by any significant amount. Not into 3080/3090 territory anyway! Will probably check back in a few weeks.

I don't want to upgrade to the 3070ti because the value just isn't there for the marginal performance gain. Although if I'm still waiting in a months time I might be tempted 😂

I messaged support this morning and just got this reply.

"The date on the website is when we expect to restore stock of the card fully. We are still receiving cards and working through orders but there is little to no information about when these will arrive and how many."

So that seems to reinforce the info about them getting regular but small restocks at least.
