In the past couple of months I had a problem with the second M.2 SSD that occasionally did not get detected. Rebooting usually solved the issue. In the past weeks the problem seemed solved but yesterday morning it started not detecting the main SSD (the Firecuda). It took a couple of reboots to get it detected. During the work, the computer freezed, and in the next reboot cycle, the SSD was not there. It took about 10 minutes, and finally it booted up. Moreover, sometimes the DEL or F2 did not allow me to get in the BIOS: after some time waiting on the "Press F2..." message, just got a black screen.

As a first thing, I tried to flash the BIOS to see if it could help (I checked on the forums and apparently as long as you don't brick the MB is ok to do it). I was able to work without any problem up to this morning when the SSD is detected very rarely. At some point, it wanted me to run the windows recovery process. When this happens, if I get in the BIOS and switch to EZ mode, only the second SSD gets detected (and the 512GB SATA drive I don't basically use):

Edit: It detected the first SSD so I booted with an USB Stick into Linux. It does not detect any valid partition on the first drive:

Anything else I can try?

Thanks!

Sounds like the drive has failed, I’d contact PCS to get a replacement drive. It should be under warranty.
Thank you for your reply :) I already wrote them, I'll try to give them a ring tomorrow morning. Do you know if they usually send the replacement or if I have to send the PC?

Thanks!!

Thanks a lot @B4zookaw ! They asked me to try and install Windows on the orginal ssd: if windows failed to detect it (as it did), it was probably gone.

Then they asked me if I wanted to send the SSD or the whole PC. I have decided to send the SSD only, so now I installed an old samsung SSD in and at least I can work while I wait (as long as I can bear with its incredibly low transfer rate of about 400MB/s, I guess it's fine).

Thank you again!

Fingers crossed the new drive is dispatched soon, should only a few days I imagine, should be something they have readily in stock
