New PC - keep getting D3D error device removed whilst gaming

Does anyone know when they would approach PC specialist about this? Just got another black screen then crash. But its been fine for 4 days. Is this normal with PCs? I come from a console background so am unsure - used to just gaming and no problems. Is this symptomatic of a faulty GPU that needs replacing? Or just that the 5700 XT is a bad card?

Just another update since 7:29pm. Unwound playing games for a bit after that. No crash, everything fine. I did try changing the PCIe power saving settings under advance power settings, from "moderate power savings" to off. Apparently this works for some people. So I've done that but too early to say whether its a permanent fix.

Out of interest (for anyone, any components/PC). Is the occasional crash considered normal to most? I.e. if this is an isolated crash, and I get one again say next week... Would you consider this stable? Or is no crash within the parameters of normal? Many thanks

You should never get a crash on a healthy system, it is indicative that something is amiss.

Thanks for the replies! If I might expand from that then:

1) Do you think the issues I am experiencing are due to the 5700 XT? I.e. it is temperamental (the more reading I do, the more problems people seem to have). So I have to just find a solution or accept the card just isn't great and I should replace it at some point.

or

2) The card itself has a fault with it. And I should contact PC Specialist and get it changed? / Have them take a look. Not sure how their support works in this department - specifically how it works.

Its a shame because it was fine for 10 days after a bunch of crashes. Then it crashed a bunch after AC Valhalla (which wouldn't even run). So I did DDU again and thought it was fine (after 4 days it was still fine). Then I had this crash yesterday.

EDIT: typo

If you do a fully clean install of Windows, deleting all UEFI partitions, allowing Windows Update to install all drivers, and then manually installing the latest graphics driver from the vendor's website, and it still crashes then its 99.9% certain it's a hardware issue.

Well thanks for everyone's input. Tried everything suggested. Thought it was fine after 4 days no problems. Then boop hardware failure again. Even done DDU then installed the drivers without adrenaline software as apparently that works for some. PC specialist just saying "try DDU" so not quite sure what to do now...

I'd take the hit and go for an RMA.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know if you have to send the entire PC back or if you can do an individual component? Do you just email them?
I think at this point we're fairly optimistic it's an issue with the GPU itself.

I would email PCS and link them to this thread and they may be able to post a replacement card by courier rather than you having to send the whole PC back. Then the courier just takes the faulty card and returns it to PCS.
