New Gaming PC

Hello there,

I am looking at the following specification mainly for X Plane/MSFS.
Can anybody give me feedback on the set up.
In particular, is the graphics card up to it.
I hope to go with a 27" monitor. 144 HZ.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ken. You’d really be helping us out if you could let us know a couple of things. What resolution is your monitor? What budget are you working with? And are there going to be any other uses for the system such as photo/video editing?

Let us know and someone will advise appropriately 🙂👍

As above and you might have a read of this as well

Hi there. At the moment working off my laptop, acer i5. Probably go with a 1440p for new computer. Budget around €1800 incl. monitor. Just for flight simming primarily.
Cheers

I have got this merged with your original request for spec advice - are you still looking at an Intel? Did you read the thread posted re AMD v Intel? - and if you did, are you still sure you want an Intel system?

Considering the speed of storage devices nowadays, I dont know why you have gone for the slow drives?

Is it the space you need?

Can I suggest you give this a good read, including all the posts that are linked to it as well as this will give you a really good idea about building a desktop system:

Hi mate for a 1440p build at around €1800 you'd want something like this

Intel are not a good choice at the minute and your storage selection is just not good. The case you selected is also very poor for airflow and temps plus an office grade PSU.

The below is the kind of build that you want

You've mentioned flight sim so I would recommend upping the RAM to 32GB when you can as this will help in that application

Ideally I'd also want a better CPU cooler, I'd personally recommend the Coolermaster Liquid Lite 240 but that puts you over budget

Hi folks,
Would this spec be fine for flight simulation. I only want to spend this amount. Would this rig run a 1080p 144hz monitor comfortably?
Thanks for your thoughts in advance.
Ken

Also would be good to have a good read of this:

Hi folks,
Does the spec below look OK for flight simming: MSFS, XPLANE etc?
Your thought would be appreciated.

Getting on a bit now with the threads.

@kenjones286, when revisiting the build can you stick to one thread please. Also, can you respond to the previous queries regarding the position of your thinking with the choices?

I'm not sure what you expect from us to be honest. We are here to help by engaging in conversation with potential customers. Randomly starting new threads with inconsistent choices but consistently asking for advice and then ignoring anything written gets really tiresome for all involved.

OK no problem.
So much choice, just trying to find the right spec for what I'm looking for.
Will return in 2023 and will have a better idea. Waiting on MSFS to improve their offering along with X Plane.
Thanks again and I will research and engage.

Until you answer the questions raised then, don’t expect too quick a response from everyone that’s tried to help so far.

We see this as wasting our time if all you do is pop in every four/five/six months and ask the same question and then ignore any help / advice attempts and just disappear again.
